Dr. Imran Hammami
He is a Tunisian teacher-researcher, currently an assistant professor at the Higher Institute of Applied Biological Sciences of Tunis (ISSBAT). He conducts his research within the "Bioresources, Environment and Biotechnology" (BeB) Research Laboratory. His academic career includes obtaining a Master’s degree in Natural Sciences (1999), a DEA (Advanced Studies Diploma) in Plant Ecophysiology (2002), a PhD in Biological Sciences (2008), and a university habilitation in 2015. A specialist in plant biology and sustainable agronomy, his work focuses on crop protection. He particularly studies resistance to diseases such as crown rust of oats, microbiological biocontrol by soil bacteria, as well as the valorization of industrial co-products and residual biomass. Between 2010 and 2025, Dr. Hammami has published 13 scientific articles, with recent interests in fertigation using phosphate mining wastewater and metagenomics of cultivated soils. In parallel, he is heavily involved in education, having supervised ten professional and research master’s theses oriented towards biological engineering, environmental management, and resilient agronomy.
